Special Chocolate Cookies
For this special recipe you will need:
1 1/2 cup of sugar
2 1/3 of flour
3 tablespoons of butter
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional)
1/4 teaspoon of salt
100g of chocolate chips (or you can cut 100g of chocolate into little pea sized pieces)
Baking shapes
For the preparation:
Get the eggs and butter out of the fridge for at least 20 minutes, it is important for them to be at a room temperature.
Put the flour, the baking soda and salt in a container, mix all the ingredients together and set aside. Take a bowl put the butter and sugar and mix them really well, then add the two eggs and the vanilla extract and mix together until you have a nice creamy texture. Add to the mixture the unsifted flour ( which already has the baking soda and salt in it) slowly, and mix until the flour is completely incorporated within the mixture, making sure you don’t over mix as later the whole mixture will result really stiff. After that add the chocolate chips or (little chocolate pieces at a size of a pea if you don’t have chocolate chips) and mix slowly after that, put the mixture on the fridge and let it rest for about 2-3 hours.
After 3 hours preheat the oven gas mark 5 ( or 375 fahrenheit or 190 c) take the mixture out of the fridge and work it with a rolling-pin and here comes the funny part, use the baking shape to shape the cookie mixture and after that, place the shapes on a tray and bake for at least 25 min, making sure you don’t open the oven before the 20th minute. You can check if they are ready with a toothpick (considering that the chocolate will be a bit runny so don’t worry about that). After they are cooked place them carefully into a baking grid to rest. You can eat them while they are still warm or cold, it doesn’t matter they are still delicious. You can even just use the normal round shape to make the cookies by simply using a spoon to place the mixture on the tray but I wanted to make something really special which would result interesting not only to the children but also to adults. Enjoy!!!
