Hummus recipe – In case you feel hungry…..

Hummus recipe

Hummus recipe

am definitely a “snack loving” person but since most of the snacks are not very healthy, I am always looking for new  ways to treat myself. Now, basically this snack consist of some “crudites”, just a fashionable way to say raw vegetables accompanied by my homemade Hummus sauce.

To make the Hummus sauce, all you need is:

1 can of  chickpeas (which I boil for about 15 minutes before making the sauce)

1 lemon juice (I put a little zest in the sauce, too)

Salt

3 teaspoon of yogurt

1 grated clove of garlic

1 teaspoon of olive oil

I blend all together until it is all creamy and there you go you have made your own Hummus sauce.

Please tell me what is your favourite snack, I am very curious to know! 🙂

  1. My favorite snack is not very healthy, but it is my family recipe for stuffed peppers. I have never heard of anyone else who makes them the way my family does

      1. For my recipe you need about 6 medium green peppers, 1 medium onion, 1 pack of crackers, 1 can petite diced tomatoes, half a cup of mayonnaise, and salt and pepper. make sure you drain tomatoes and meat very well. Cut your peppers in half and sit to the side, then put your meat, tomatoes, and mayonnaise, in a big bowl , completely crush your crackers and add them as well add two pinches of pepper and 2 or 3 pinches of salt. Then use your hands and start squeazing all of the ingredients together, do this for about 10 min, then stuff the peppers until they look a little over stuffed. Refrigerate for about an hour, then take em out and enjoy. My husband had never tried cold stuffed peppers before or this recipe and now he will not eat them any other way.

  3. Try adding tahini (sesame paste) to your hummus, it’s part of the authentic middle eastern recipe. In fact tahini mixed with lemon juice on its own is a wonderful dip.
