Mussels au gratin recipe

Mussels au gratin

Hello everyone, its weekend again but the weather has not been the best, I was hoping to do some garden cleaning but it was really cold and rainy outside so I stayed inside and started my Spring cleaning. In fact, the mussels au gratin recipe I cooked today it is not only quick and delicious but produced various colours which reminds me of Spring. So basically this mussels gratin recipe is an easy but very  interesting appetizer which needs only mussels, garlic, parsley, hot chili, white wine and bread crumbs. The preparation is very easy and the results are heavenly. I highly recommend preparing this seafood recipe for a special dinner party as it is perfect to share with friends or your loved ones.

Mussels au gratin ingredients

This recipe serves 2-3 people

Cooking time: 25 minutes

For this recipe you will need:

500 gr of mussels

1/2 glass of white wine

3 cloves of garlic

100 gr of bread crumbs

30 gr of fresh parsley

Black pepper

Hot chili pepper

Salt

Olive oil

The preparation:

First of all, you need to clean the mussels (you will find all the detailed information on how to carefully clean them in my mussels marinara recipe here).

After that add some chopped garlic and 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a deep pan and cook them together on a medium heat for about 2 minutes or until the garlic turns golden. Then, add the mussels, the black pepper, a pinch of salt and the 1/2 glass of white wine and cover to cook for about 5-8 minutes (you will notice the mussels opening up). Once they are cooked, turn the heat down and take the part of the shell which has no meat on.

Don’t throw the stock away  as you will need it for later.

Meanwhile, in a bowl add the bread crumbs, the chopped parsley (finely), the grated garlic, a pinch of salt, the black pepper and mix with a spoon or hands all the ingredients together. When everything is blended add 2 tablespoons of the stock the mussels released previously and mix very well.

Now all you need to do is place some of the mixture on the top to cover the mussels, after that place them on a tray and cook  in the oven (grill option  for 10 minutes) or until slightly brown. And that’s it!

Mussels gratin

I really hope you will find this recipe interesting and trust me the taste is very enjoyable, sweet, fresh and spicy and the same time. It is one of those recipes which produces very good results with  minimal effort.

See you on the next recipe,

Enjoy and let me know how it goes! 🙂
