Hello friends hope you are all well and had a good weekend. Going through my blog I noticed that I don’t have any posts about my favourite places to eat and what kind of restaurants I prefer to go to. In fact, in todays post I will share my experience on one of my favourite place to go whenever I go to Norwich during the weekends. Me and my husband are always very curious and willing to try new cuisines and new places to eat and one of those places is Jamie’s Italian in Norwich. We have been there 3 times and I can easily say that we like it very much as I find the staff genuinely welcoming and the food is very nice. I love their rustic menu (in fact they make a wonderful tomato sauce) and the quality ย of the ingredients is very good. Anyway the last time we went there we had some very interesting dishes.
For antipasti we had fried balls of mushroom risotto with mozzarella and a cheese fondue sauce. I really liked the texture and the perfect balance between the rice and the mushrooms.
Spinach and ricotta croquettes (very cruchy) accompanied with an amazing arrabbiata sauce. (You have to try their sauce) ๐
My main was Baked crespelle which was spinach and basil baked in Gluten-Free buckwheat pancakes with smoked mozzarella, sweet leeks and tomato sauce and bella Lodi cheese. I don’t usually have gluten-free dishes but I wanted to give it a go and I was very surprised by the results as everything blended very well with the cheese, tomato sauce and the pancakes.
My husband’s main was a sustainable fish and shellfish stew cooked in a rich tomato sauce with a white wine sauce, fregola, crostini and brown crab aioli. Very balanced (definitely will try to make it at home.)
We also had, polenta chips as a side dish which was something completely new to us.
The inside of the restaurant is very inviting using a sort of rustic, shabby chic style and there is plently of room for intimancy (which I find to be very important when I go to eat outside).
For dessert, we tried the orange blossom polenta cake with whipped creme fraiche and fresh orange and pomegranate. Such a good discovery, perfectly moist and had a pleasant taste.
But my absolute favourite dish was the Amalfi Lemon meringue cheesecake, a lemon cheesecake with velvety mascarpone topped with an Italian gooey italian meringue served with lemon curd and blackcurrants. You have to try this dessert, it is delightful.
Hope you liked this post which was a bit different from the others but I really wanted to share with you my cuisine adventures outside my kitchen. If you found these dishes interesting and want to know more about many others you can visit Jamie’s Italian website Jamie’s Italian Norwich.
Thank you for reading this post and if you want me to post more restaurant reviews I will be more than happy to do it.
See you in the next recipe!
Enjoy!

I was really interested in your review because I visited Jamie’s Italian in Threadneedle Street in London with friends and family for dinner in November 2015. Although the service was exemplary, I was disappointed by the meal. If you have time, have a look at my review in hotelsandrestaurantreviews.com

Looks amazing. I love going to Jamie’s. Haven’t been to one in England though, but the one in Perth is great and had an excellent cooking class at the one in Dubai
