Apple cake recipe
To make this recipe you need only 1 hour
Recipe for 4 persons

Ingredients for the apple cake recipe:
1 cup of tea of white flour
1 cup of tea of sugar
2 medium sized eggs
3 tea spoon of butter
2 medium sized apples
1 medium carrot
3 tea spoon of greek yogurt
1 tea spoon of baking power
a half of a lemon zest
a sprinkle of salt
To add shine (optional)
2 tea spoons of honey
1 tea spoon of water
( Leave the eggs and the butter 15 minutes out of the fridge before you start mixing ingredients together)
Put your favourite apron on and get a whisk:…
Pre-heat your oven at gas mark 5 or 180 degrees
In a large bowl put the sugar and the butter and mix them, add the eggs and mix everything really well. Now peel the apples and cut them into slices (to prevent them from going brown squeeze over some lemon juice), meanwhile grind the carrot and set aside. Add to the mixture the carrot and some finely chop small pieces of apple (leave most of them for decoration). Add to the mixture the lemon zest (being very careful not to take the white part of the lemon as it is very bitter) and the 3 teaspoon of greek yogurt. Now add the flour slowly,the baking powder and the sprinkle of salt and mix slowly.
So, in the bowl you should now have: the sugar, butter, eggs, some pieces of apples, a carrot, lemon zest, the yogurt,flour,baking powder and salt. Add the slices of the apples on the top of the mixture.
Put the whole mixture on a medium sized rounded tray and bake for about 45 min on the oven, checking after 35 minutes with a toothpick at the center, if it comes dry it is ready.
Leave to cool on a baking grid (but if you don’t have any just leave it on the tray).
To add shine on the top, take two tea spoon of honey on a cup and 1 tea spoon of water mix it very well and add to the top of the apple cake.
ps. I added some pomegranate on the top, but of course you can add whatever you prefer!
